Boat Rental GENERAL POLICIES
  •  Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older to rent any of our equipment.
  • Boater Safety Course: If you were born on or after June 30, 1996, you must complete a boater safety course to operate a boat and provide the certificate at check-in.
  • Fuel Policy:
    • Boats come with a full tank of gas.
    • You are responsible for the fuel you use.
    • Refueling is only permitted at Middle Channel Marina.
  • Multi-Day Rentals: Multi-day rentals may be stored at your house with prior approval of the location. Boat must remain in the water on Lake St. Clair
  • Refunds: No refunds will be issued for early returns or bad weather during the rental period.
  • Late Return Fee: A late return fee will be applied to the total cost at the end of your rental.
  • Security Deposit: A credit card must be on file for the security deposit at checkout.
  • Damage Responsibility: Renters are fully responsible for all costs related to equipment damage, including lost rental revenue. 
  • On-Water Risks: Be aware of potential risks, including large waves, strong winds, storms, sinkage, running aground, sucking up towropes, or minor collisions.
  • Intoxicants: Drugs and alcohol are strictly prohibited. Service will be denied to anyone under the influence for the safety of all guests.
  • Liability Agreement: All renters acknowledge that water activities can be hazardous and agree to hold Middle Channel Marina, its owners, employees, and affiliated properties harmless from any incidents.
CANCELLATION POLICY
  • Cancellation Policy:

    • Cancellations made 14 days or more before your reserved date qualify for a full refund, minus a 10% processing fee.
    • Cancellations made 2 to 13 days before your reserved date qualify for a 50% refund.
    • Cancellations made within 48 hours of your reserved date are not eligible for any refund, regardless of whether the equipment is rebooked by another party
NO SHOWS
  • No Shows are charged in full for the rental period reserved. Any party that has not arrived by the scheduled time of the rental shall be deemed a NO SHOW.
  • We reserve the right to cancel your reservation for violations to our policies.
Weather Policy

Middle Channel Marina prioritizes safety and will not rent equipment in unsafe weather conditions. Our staff will assess the weather, and if deemed unsafe, your rental may be postponed or canceled. Every effort will be made to reschedule your rental during your stay. If rescheduling is not possible, you may receive a voucher for a future rental during that season.

The safety of our patrons is our top priority, and rental vessels will not be allowed to leave the marina during adverse conditions such as small craft advisories. Please check the weather conditions prior to your arrival to avoid inconvenience. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

 

  • Weather and Rescheduling Policy:
    Middle Channel Marina reserves the right to reschedule or cancel reservations due to inclement weather. If this occurs during your rental period:

    • You will be issued a voucher for credit to be used for the same or similar equipment later in the same season, or as a dollar amount toward alternative equipment.
    • The type and value of the voucher will be determined solely at the discretion of Middle Channel Marina staff.
Parking

The number of cars included with your boat rental depends on the type of boat you book:

  • Pontoon or tritoon rentals include parking for two cars.
  • Fishing boats, houseboats, and kayaks rentals include parking for one car.

Additional cars can be purchased when checking in.
